Brown's Software Catalog
The Office of Information Technology's Software Services negotiates and manages software licenses for the most commonly used applications at Brown. The software download page provides an extensive list of available software available to members of the Brown community at no cost.
Standalone copies of software are also available for faculty and staff who require unrestricted access to specific packages. If you are looking for a software title that isn't listed, our team can help identify the best solution and licensing options.
Core Software
If your system was deployed by our team, in most instances, we preload Brown's "core suite" including:
- Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat / full catalog)
- BIG-IP Edge VPN client
- Crowdstrike Antivirus
- Zoom
- Browsers: Chrome, Firefox
BioMed Software
The Division licenses additional software titles we find particularly useful for our research and studies.
BioRender
BioRender is a web application used to create professional scientific figures. A premium license is available to BioMed researchers in the Division.
If you cannot access this application and believe you should be able to, please:
- Use this form to create a new OIT Service Center request.
- For Request Type, select ACCESS Request
- Then select APPLICATION List (all other requests)
- Click/tap the applications box and scroll to select BioRender.
- Complete the remaining fields and submit.
GraphPad Prism
Prism is an analysis and graphing tool for scientific research. The Division licenses this application to graduate students, faculty, and staff in our research labs.
To request a Prism license:
- Use this form to create a new OIT Service Center request.
- For Request Type, select ACCESS Request
- Then select APPLICATION List (all other requests)
- Click/tap the applications box and scroll to select GraphPad Prism.
- Complete the remaining fields and submit.
Atlas Visible Body
Visible Body provides full 3D dissectable models, videos, and tours on normal function and common conditions, as well as self-paced study resources. This web application can be accessed anywhere without VPN.
Select the option to log in using your Google credentials and use your Brown email.
